Man who grew cannabis in Aljezur arrested

The detainee was constituted as a defendant and subject to a term of identity and residence

A 53-year-old man suspected of planting cannabis near an isolated house in Aljezur was arrested this Monday, 8 July. 

Following a routine patrol, the military came across a small cannabis field next to an isolated dwelling.

After steps, they approached the owner of the land, who admitted that he was dedicated to the cultivation of those plants.

In total, the military seized 44 cannabis plants (cannabis sativa), 17 grams of leaves, dried flowering and fruity juices and about three doses of hashish.

The detainee was constituted as an accused and subject to a term of identity and residence.

The facts were referred to the Court of Lagos.
