The Luso-Dutch already has four national and two world titles

The Algarvian Jody Lot, current world champion, won this weekend the title of national champion of underwater fishing, for the fourth time, in the competition held this weekend in Peniche, in an organization of the Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities (FPAS).

The other members of the Clube Naval de Portimão team also had high quality performances: Matthias Sandeck got the 2nd place, becoming vice champion, while the third member of the team, Humberto Silva was classified in 5th place.

With these results, the Clube Naval de Portimão team became the national champion of underwater fishing by teams, after the last two stages, in Peniche.

All team members are now called up for the national team that, in September, will participate, in Denmark, in the Euro-African Championship of the sport.

This team, which transferred to the CNP last December, won the national title for the fourth consecutive year.

Individually, the Luso-Dutch Jody now boasts four national champion titles, one Portuguese Cup, one European/Africa champion title and two world champion titles. He also has several team titles with his teammates, in doubles and triples.

Matthias was national champion of masters in 2013.

As is customary in the competitions organized by FPAS, all the species caught over the two days were donated to a social solidarity institution, in this case, the Solidarity and Culture Center of Peniche.
