Ricardo Teodósio remains leader in the Portuguese Rally Championship

Algarvian driver remains in 1st place overall, despite having been second in the Castelo Branco rally

The Algarve driver Ricardo Teodósio continues ahead of the Portuguese Rally Championship, after another stage of the competition, played this weekend in Castelo Branco.

Ricardo Teodósio was the second, in the rally disputed in Beira Baixa, but kept the lead in the championship.

“We did our best. I really wanted to win, but decided not to risk it in the dirty areas of the track, and that turned out to be decisive. The two cars in front were always very fast and had an excellent rally. The balance turns out to be positive, as we have to think about our championship. Title aspirations are intact. Now I just want to think about Madeira», said Ricardo Teodósio.
In the race that ended yesterday, Sunday, the fastest was Armindo Araújo, who is in second place in the championship. Miguel Barbosa secured third place on the podium.

According to the Portuguese Federation of Automotive and Karting, in Castelo Branco, over two days, those who would end up being the first two classified «starred in a frantic clash».

«Araújo and Teodósio were always very close and it was necessary to enter the last section of the Castelo Branco Rally to begin to understand that the Santo Tirso driver was gaining an advantage. When there were three sections to the conclusion of the race, the first two were separated by just 2,7 seconds», they describe.

The championship has a new stage between the 1st and 3rd of August, when the Madeira Wine Rally will take place in this autonomous region.
