“O Lugar dos Farois” is shown in Vila do Bispo

Show can be seen until 30th August

The painting exhibition “O Lugar dos Farois”, by António José Ervedeiro, was inaugurated this Thursday, June 13, at the Interpretation Center of Vila do Bispo.

The initiative was attended by the artist, the town councilor Rute Silva and the commander of Porto de Lagos Luís Duarte.

In this exhibition, the author presents 37 representative works of several Portuguese lighthouses, built in mainland Portugal, islands and former colonies.

Born in Freixo de Numão, municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, in 1956, António José Ervedeiro lives in Lisbon, where he is a psychologist. He has always felt the lighthouses as an attraction, beauty and magnificence, buildings that rise, majestic, in the landscape they guard.

Devoted to ignorance in an era of georeference, the author now challenges the public to remember them through this collection of paintings in gouache and watercolor.

The exhibition, organized by the Municipality of Vila do Bispo, is open to the public until the next 30th of August and can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 15:30 pm.
