MED comes to an end with the certainty that this is a different festival

This was the 16th edition of the festival

It's much more than a Mere music festival, but like everything else in life, it also has its end: the 16th edition of the MED ended this Saturday, June 29, and for three days, sounds from all over the world invaded the Historic Center of Loulé.

Camané's fado, accompanied by Mário Laginha on the piano, “Os Tubarões”, Francisco, El Hombre, Marcelo D2 or the Quarteirense Dino d'Santiago were some of the most popular concerts at this MED.

But, above all, this is a different festival where viewers have the opportunity to meet (and listen to) unknown bands, with music from countries as far away as Haiti, for example.

This is one of the secrets of the success of MED, which this year, presented a major change in the venue. The new Chafariz stage allowed for a better circulation of festival-goers, in the narrow streets of the Historic Center, as well as the enjoyment of concerts, while sitting on the grass next to the Castle.

Moreover, exhibitions, cinema, street entertainment and theater made up the rest of MED, which was created 16 years ago by the hand of Joaquim Guerreiro and which, with each edition, asserts itself in the national panorama of festivals.
