António Zambujo, Manel Cruz, Rita Redshoes, and Elisa Rodrigues are some of the names that will act in the first edition of Açoteia festival, which takes place on the 21st and 22nd, but which will have activities from the 20th, Thursday, such as a PAUS concert, next to the obelisk, on Avenida da República.
In addition to the "national" names, Paulo Santos, vice president of the Chamber of Faro, he highlighted, in an interview with Sul Informação, «a wide range of local artists» and also the programming made in partnership with 20 cultural associations, such as Satori, JAT, ArQuente, or Teatrito.
Regarding the concerts by António Zambujo, Manel Cruz, Rita Redshoes and Elisa Rodrigues, Paulo Santos explains that «they come to perform solo, in a 40-minute showcase format. Each of these artists will give two concerts, in two different spaces, which can host as much as 200 people, as well as 40».
These four names “were inserted in the program, thinking about the framing with the space where the performance will be”.
Like the Sul Informação already advance, the farense Galopim, together with the Spaniard Pau Alabajos, will perform, in the two days, at the Lab Terrace.
Mopho, Teresa Aleixo (20th) or Old Jerusalem are other names that will act at Açoteia.
João Maria, Badoga and Figueira will be responsible for the animation of the closing party, on the 22nd, which will be on floor -2 of the Municipal Market of Faro.
In addition to the programmed activities, in all the rooftops there will be traveling theater, theatrical performances by the companies Teatrito, JAT, Satori and Companhia XPTO.
The fact that there are limited spaces can lead to queues forming, as the ticket is purchased only once, giving access to the various roof terraces.
Paulo Santos emphasizes that, for security reasons, “we are going to be very strict with access, through the capacity to occupy. There may be queues, because if a space is full, we will only let someone in when someone else leaves. So, either people wait for the opportunity to enter, or they visit another space that is less crowded, because all experiences are worth it».
Tickets will be on sale from the end of this week at the Teatro das Figuras box office and, on the days of the event, the bracelets, which give access to all the roof terraces, can be purchased at the entrance to the spaces.
Tickets for the festival, which takes place on both days, between 17:00 pm and 23:00 pm, cost five euros, with children up to 12 years old free and young people between 12 and 16 years old can only enter when accompanied by an adult .
