PARU and urban regeneration incentives will be in focus

The municipal intervention in the urban rehabilitation of Albufeira and the existing incentive instruments in this area, in the county, will be in focus in a public session of dissemination and clarification, on Thursday, the 9th, at 14 pm, in the Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho .

The session “Urban Rehabilitation in Albufeira: Municipal Intervention Strategy and Incentive Instruments” will focus on the Urban Regeneration Action Plan (PARU) from Albufeira, as well as the incentives for urban regeneration that the municipality has been giving to owners.

PARU has been «the municipality's big bet» and counts with «more than 1 million Euros destined to public investment and others to leverage private investment through a financial instrument, IFFRU 2020, which allows owners to fully rehabilitate its buildings in exceptional conditions of access to bank credit', according to the municipality.

«The municipality has been implementing a municipal policy to encourage urban rehabilitation, enshrined in instruments of a diverse nature, from planning instruments, such as the delimitation of ARUs (Urban Rehabilitation Areas) in the municipality, instruments of a fiscal nature, such as the Exemption from IMI, IMT, the reduction of VAT to 6% on rehabilitation works or even the total exemption from payment of municipal fees due for the urban development operation for those carrying out rehabilitation works in ARUs», added the City Council of Albufeira.

José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, guaranteed that the municipality is implementing «a local policy centered on urban regeneration that wants to be participatory, inclusive and inclusive, in a municipality with such a strong tourist component as Albufeira is fundamental, combined with our predominant tourist product: sun and sea”.

Cláudia Guedelha, councilor for the Department of Urban Rehabilitation and Community Funds, considers that «the continuity of a good municipal policy to encourage urban rehabilitation, similar to what was agreed in the scope of Portugal 2020, will only be good. if it results from a commitment between the public and the private sector”.
