Two works by two great composers of the classical period – Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – will be highlighted in the concert as part of the 34th FIMA – Algarve International Music Festival, which will take place at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium, on May 23, at 21 pm .

The second concert dedicated to the theme “Chamber Serenades and Symphonies” begins with the Little Night Serenade for strings “Eine small night music”, perhaps “one of the most famous and beautiful parts of Mozart, with its character of extreme youthfulness and freshness”, explains the organization of the festival.

The version of Haydn's last Symphony, performed by Salomon, the agent who organized Haydn's tours to London, "shows a practice quite in vogue at the time – the transcription for small groups as a way of publicizing the great symphonic works".

With the format of a commented concert, this performance by a chamber group from the Orquestra Clássica do Sul will feature the presence of conductor Rui Pinheiro in the role of commentator, as a way to bring the audience closer to the work of these composers.

The Orquestra Clássica do Sul's chamber music ensemble features Jan Pipal and João Castro on violins, Ivetta Natzkaya on viola, Vasile Stanescu on cello and Stefania Bernardi on flute.

Tickets for this concert cost 8 euros and can be purchased at the venue, on the day of the concert, from 20:00, or through online ticket office available by clicking here.
