Katia Guerreiro is the guest fado singer at the final of the 20th edition of the Fado Beer Sagres Municipality of Vila do Bispo Contest, which is scheduled for this Saturday, May 25, at 21 pm, in the Barão de São Miguel Recreation Society's Party Room.
Amabélio Pereira (S. Brás Alportel), Firmino Rodrigues (Lagoa) and Mickael Salgado (Montemor-o-Velho) are the three competitors who will dispute, among themselves, the first, second and third place in this contest.
The evaluation of the performance of the participants is in charge of the jury composed by the musician Pedro de Almeida, the fado singer Ana Marques and the voice teacher Rita Rodrigues, of the Orquestra Ligeira de Lagos.
As for the prizes, the grand winner will receive a monetary prize worth 1300 euros, which will be sponsored by Central de Cervejas e Bebidas, SA and Martinhal Resort Hotel.
The runner-up will receive 500 euros, sponsored by the NAU Hotel & Resort – Salema Beach Village and Retiro do Pescador restaurant, and the third place will receive 250 euros, a prize sponsored by the Gigi restaurant.
On this day, Mafalda Vasquez, winner of last year's edition, will also perform.
For the final, tickets are on sale at the Vila do Bispo Cultural Center, and can also be purchased on the same day, at the venue.
Organized by the Municipality of Vila do Bispo, this initiative aims to promote and stimulate a taste for Fado, an Intangible Heritage of Humanity, to make new musical talents known, as well as to contribute to the cultural development of the county.
