Algarve Hotels Promote Hiking at Europe's Best Hiking Destination

Registration fees revert to Quercus

Algarve hotels will promote, on the 2nd of June, a walk along the trail of the Seven Suspended Valleys of Lagoa, elected as “The Best Hiking Destination in Europe”.

The course of about 7 kilometers begins at 8:30 am at Praia da Marinha, passing by Benagil beach and ending again at the starting point, where a sand cleaning action will be carried out to raise awareness of the reduction of pollution on Portuguese beaches .

Registration for this activity costs 10 euros until May 30th and includes the offer of a t-shirt and an aluminum bottle, encouraging the non-use of plastic. On the same day, the registration fee increases to 15 euros. The money from all entries will revert, in full, to Quercus.

«This initiative aims to raise awareness of the climate change that we have witnessed and for which we are all responsible. We want to bring together 500 participants in a morning of union, which brings together a unique environment with a very clear purpose, to show that talking is not enough and that it is necessary to act and act», says Lourenço Ribeiro, general director of the Be Live Hotels group.

Climate Change Trekking, the name of the initiative, is jointly promoted by several hotel units in the region, such as the BeLive Family Palmeiras Village Hotel, Monte Santo Resort, Tivoli Carvoeiro, Pestana Hotels, Agua Hotels Riverside, Hotel Baia Cristal and Colina Vale da Lapa , with the support of the Municipality of Lagoa.
