Câmara de Lagos gives voters a lift to polling stations

Measure aims to ensure that everyone has the possibility to vote

The Câmara de Lagos will once again transport the citizens who live in the most isolated places in the county to the polling stations, on Sunday, so that everyone can vote in the European Elections.

As is customary, the municipality "designed a transport circuit in municipal vehicles for voters residing in places furthest away from the polling stations, with two times (collection and return)", according to the City of Lagos.

The objective is "to provide equal access conditions so that all citizens can fulfill this civic duty".

The municipality will provide two vehicles for transport, one with nine seats and the other with 27.
In the towns of Cotifo, Colégio and Pincho, the nine-seater vehicle passes, respectively, at 9:30 am, 10:00 am and 10:30 am, to take voters to the Bensafrim primary school. The return to the first two locations is scheduled for 11:00 am. The return to Pincho is scheduled for 10:30 am.

Citizens who vote in the primary school of Odiáxere will have a ride from the City Council to the Torre, Monte Ruivo and Cotifo sites at 14:00, 14:20 and 14:30, respectively. The return is scheduled for 15:00.

At 15:30 pm, it will be the turn of voters from Monte Judeu and Louseira who vote in the cultural center of Barão de São João to catch a ride in the City Hall. The departure back home is scheduled for 16:00.

The 27-seat minibus will serve the populations of Monte Judeu and Portelas who vote at the Júlio Dantas Secondary School, in Lagos. The departure of these two locations takes place, respectively, at 9:30 am and 9:45 am and the return home is scheduled for 10:30 am.

The same vehicle will pass through Monte Junto and Sargaçal (14:15 pm), Chinicato (14:30 pm) and Meia Praia (15:00 pm), to take those interested to the secondary school in Lacobrigense. The return home, in the first two cases, is at 15:30. In the third case, it is at 16:00 pm.

The transport of Almádena and Espiche to the Clube da Luz will be done on the Onda 4 line, free of charge.
