Port effective defeats Portimonense

Portimonense leaves the game with three casualties for the visit to Setúbal

Portimonense played well, created opportunities, but ended up suffering a heavy defeat against FC Porto, by 0-3, this Saturday, April 13th. Brahimi, Marega and Herrera scored the dragons' goals.

Porto started the game better and, after 10 minutes, a setback for Portimonense arose. Rúben Fernandes injured his thigh and had to be replaced by Henrique.

The superiority of the white and blue team in the first minutes materialized in the 15′. Marega isolated himself, made a late pass to Brahimi and the Algerian shot low, with his right foot, and beat Ricardo Ferreira.

Portimonense reacted well to the goal and, as early as 16′, could have drawn. Aylton Boa Morte made a pass to isolate Lucas Fernandes, but Casillas was quick to leave the goal and avoid the draw.

At 18′, Casillas again prevented Lucas Fernandes from scoring. In the free-kick, the Brazilian midfielder fired into position and forced the goalkeeper of Sérgio Conceição's team to apply.

The next minute, there was a ball on Casillas' goal post. Lucas Fernandes hit a corner on the left, Tiquinho Soares made the cut head backwards and the spherical hit the iron.

From then on, the game slowed down and only after 30 minutes there was danger again and, once again, for the Algarve team, with an arc shot by Aylton Boa Morte that cleared the bar.

Despite continuing to get close to the Portimonense area, Porto had difficulties defining the moves and, before the break, at 45′, Tabata also tested the attention of Iker Casillas in a cross shot that the Spanish goalkeeper saved for the front. Nobody arrived for the recharge.

After the break, the first goal situation went to Porto, in the 49th minute, when Marega, at the edge of the area, shot strong and low for a good defense by Ricardo Ferreira.

However, Portimonense had more ball and, at 51′, Tabata again threatened Casillas' goal, with a shot from the edge of the area that went over the bar.

In response, at 57′, it was Tiquinho Soares who, head after corner, gave the ball the same fate.

The Algarvian team continued to look for a draw, had possession of the ball, but Porto, at 71′, showed that more important than having the ball is knowing what to do with it. Alex Teles isolated Marega and the forward, with a subtle touch, deflected the ball from Ricardo Ferreira and made the 0-2.

Ruster, newcomer, was close to reducing, on 82 minutes, in a shot from the edge of the area that left Casillas nailed to the ground and that came out on top, but it was Porto that extended it, already in added time. Corner from the right, Militão headed for Ricardo Ferreira's defense and, in the reload, Herrera made the final result.

In the next round, Portimonense will play Vitória de Setúbal, away from home, and will not be able to count on Lucas Fernandes, Dener and Aylton Boa Morte, who saw their fifth yellow card against Porto, by punishment.

Portimonense is in 10th place, with 32 points, five above the relegation zone.
