Olympic champion Rosa Mota will receive, this Sunday, April 14th, at 18 pm, the Key to the City of Faro, in a ceremony to be held at Teatro das Figuras.
This is the first time since 1974 that Faro assigns the Honor Key of the Municipality of Faro to a personality. The decision was taken this Friday, April 12th, by unanimous vote, at a Chamber meeting.
The moment takes place within the scope of the Sport Gala of Faro. On the occasion, municipal awards will also be given to the athletes, clubs, teams, coaches and managers who stood out throughout 2018.
Born in Porto, Rosa Mota won the gold medal in the marathon at the Olympic Games in Seoul (1988), in which she was also three times European champion (1982, 1986 and 1990) and world champion (1987).
