“Communicate as Water” meeting counts with contributions from an Algarve

This meeting aims to bring together communication professionals related to the water sector

Teresa Fernandes, responsible for Communication and Environmental Education at Águas do Algarve, is part of the Organizing Committee of the meeting “PURA 2019 – Communicating as Water” to be held on 14 May, at the Convento de São Francisco, in Coimbra. 

This meeting aims to bring together communication professionals related to the water sector and is organized by the Portuguese Association of Water Distribution and Drainage (APDA), through the Specialized Commission on Communication and Environmental Education (CECEA), of which Teresa Fernandes is coordinator .

The event, APDA's third in the field of environmental communication and which is expected to be held annually, will feature thematic round tables and presentation of projects related to education for sustainability.

The "PURA 2019" will present as keynote speaker Céline Hervé-Bazin, communication consultant specializing in water and sustainable development, will speak at 10:45.

Céline Hervé-Bazin has several works and scientific dissertations on the “art” of communication in water. Among which stands out the publication “Water Communication, Analysis of Strategies and Campaigns in the Water Resources Sector – IWA Publishing”, coordinated by him and which brings together over 11 international experts in the sector.

Another of the most important interventions will be by Laura Korčulanin (14:30 pm) who will present the project she founded: “Give a Shit”.

This is an interdisciplinary awareness platform that highlights the urgent appeal to the use of technological innovations and a social reorganization that leads to the reuse of sanitary water and the consequent reduction in the use of drinking water.
