Concert in Portimão joins Catalan Jordi Savall and Hespèrion XX ensemble

Tickets cost 12 euros

Jordi Svall, Catalan composer considered «one of the most important forces in the rebirth of ancient music», will give a concert on April 26, at 21 pm, at TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão, accompanied by the ensemble Hespèrion XXI.

Integrated in FIMA 2019 – Algarve International Music Festival, which has the support of "365Algarve", the musician will present, in this concert, the repertoire of the two albums he dedicated to “Viola Celta”, accompanied by two other favorite musicians: Andrew Lawrence-King, the most famous harpist in the universe of ancient music, and Frank McGuire, percussionist with a path in traditional music and specialist in the execution of bodhran (Irish drum).

Jordi Savall describes this program as a dialogue between Man and nature, between the Old and the New World. The repertoire is a mix of traditional Irish and Scottish songs.

Although Savall and the ensemble Hespèrion XXI have consolidated their worldwide reputation as interpreters of music from the Baroque period, "this is yet another of their highly successful forays into 'ethnic' music, in a perfect balance between tradition and modernity." says the Chamber of Portimão.

The audience is already sold out, but tickets for the TEMPO counter can still be purchased. Tickets for 12 euros and are on sale here
