Regional Surfing champions from various levels of the Algarve were enshrined in the 4th and final stage of the Southern Regional Circuit, which took place in Praia da Rocha, on Saturday.
The race should have taken place at Praia da Arrifana, in Aljezur, but the strong maritime agitation forced the move to Portimão. On the other hand, two days of competition were also planned, which ended up being reduced to one, due to the reduced number of athlete registrations.
In the men's under18 division, Diogo Pereira, from Clube Naval de Portimão (CNP), became regional champion, followed by Leon Schneider, from Portimão Surf Clube (PTMSC).
At the same level, as well as in the under16, but in women's, it was Constância Simões, from CNP, who confirmed as regional champion in both categories, after winning all stages, followed by Cassie Gonçalves, from Albufeira Surf Clube (ASC).
In the men's under-16s, Bruno Marçal (CNP) won the title of regional champion, followed by Henrique Gomes and Tomás Nunes in 3rd.
In under-14, Tomás Nunes, from Albufeira Surf Clube, won all the stages and became regional champion. Henrique Gomes (CNP) was in 2nd place and Martim Brandão was in 3rd overall.
Louis Escudeiro, from Portimão Surf Clube, confirmed the title of regional champion in under-12, followed by his teammate Kaos Heukles (2nd) and Constância Simões (3rd).
