Algarvia Yolanda Hopkins leads national surf ranking

Athlete «is in continuous ascent»

The Algarve's Yolanda Hopkins, from Clube Naval de Portimão, is the new leader of the national professional surfing ranking, after having won, this weekend, March 30th and 31st, the Allianz Figueira Pro.

«After a very tight heat, Yolanda Sequeira, who scored 8,65 points, got a rematch against Teresa Bonvalot, who scored 8,05 points», says the National Association of Surfers.

This is a triumph that leaves both athletes tied for the lead, «but with the tiebreaker leaning for the Algarve surfer, as a result of having a seeding higher".

Born in Faro, Yolanda started in the sport when she was 8 years old.

Today, on his way to 21, he lives on the Alentejo coast, in the Sines area, where he trains under the supervision of the renowned John Tranter.

According to Clube Naval de Portimão, the athlete «is in continuous ascent, being a serious candidate for the final victory in national competitions».

Simultaneously, Yolanda competes internationally, having achieved some excellent results last season.
