Entry is free

Art, poetry, music and dance are the ingredients of the International Festival “Grito de Mulher” which takes place, this Friday and Saturday, 15 and 16 March, at the António Aleixo Cultural Center in Vila Real de Santo António.

The poetry and art festival will feature an expanded panel of artists, musicians and poets.

The festival kicks off on March 15, from 18 pm, with a poetic jam session. The moment will feature poets from Portugal, Spain, Dominican Republic, Vietnam and Chile.

On Saturday, the 16th, the journey begins with the inauguration of a sculpture by artist Carlos de Oliveira Correia.

At 10:30 am, the meeting will begin, composed of an entirely female panel, which will be attended by businesswomen, doctors, mayors and institutional leaders and representatives.

The session includes moments of poetry, music and dance performed by a group of Iberian artists. The activities end with a tour/guided visit to the Historic Center of VRSA, starting at 15:30 pm.

“Grito de Mulher” is a poetic-artistic festival, organized by the Movimento Mujeres Poetas Internacional (MPI). Born in the Dominican Republic, by the hand of the writer Jael Uribe, and consists of a chain of simultaneous events, in several countries, during the month of March.

Above all, the initiative aims to pay tribute to women and spread the message of non-violence towards women, with a wide range of employees, friends and followers of the movement.

This edition also has the organization and support of the Cultural Association “Narrativa Secular” and the Vila Real de Santo António City Council.
