UGT/Algarve celebrates nine years of existence

The Algarve's General Workers Union (UGT) celebrated, this Wednesday, March 20, nine years of existence and congratulates itself on the "consolidation" it achieved "in the region".

In a statement, UGT-Algarve says that, "in addition to the uninterrupted articulation of union activity with affiliated unions, it also performs essential work in unionization and in the regional offer of professional training, representing more and more members and covering more and more workers" .

UGT's Professional Insertion Office, which operates in Faro, for more than three years, in partnership with the IEFP, «has allowed for greater proximity to workers, supporting the unemployed in their insertion or reintegration into the labor market, as well as companies in the dissemination of their job offers».

UGT-Algarve, in cooperation with the unions, guarantees that it will “remain committed to fulfilling its Action Program: “Regional Unit and Decent Work”, approved at its III Congress, in June 2018, in order to promote the fight to precarious work and to minimize regional asymmetries».

In the next three years of mandate, the regional secretariat says that “it will seek to follow the guidelines of the UGT and the action of the affiliated unions, striving for them to maintain a moderate posture of social dialogue with public or private employers, without giving in to the defense of rights. workers and always willing to fight and demand better living and working conditions, thus enhancing the union movement».

UGT-Algarve, in this communiqué, «also addresses a word of recognition to its employees, in particular, to the union leaders of the affiliated Unions, for the serious and tireless work they develop, 24 hours a day, with the associated workers».
