The Municipal Assembly of Tavira unanimously approved, on the 28th of February, a proposal by the Left Block that recommends the urgent construction of the new municipal fire department.
This building must “situated in a place of quick accessibility to the access roads”.
The structure of the current barracks «is inadequate in terms of space requirements and conditions for carrying out a performance with motivation for the professionals who exercise their functions in the respective facilities», reads the BE recommendation.
"This justifies the need to quickly think of a new structure to adequately house municipal firefighters and all their mobile devices."
BE also recommends that the municipal executive «strive for the equivalence of Municipal Firefighters to Firefighters Sapadores, thus achieving greater motivation of professionals, as well as a reinforcement of the attractiveness of the function, which will bring a progressive improvement in the quality of the future staff'.
Finally, the Block asks the Chamber to "energize the hiring of more elements for the effective staff of the Municipal Fire Department of Tavira, in order to create a balanced framework and, consequently, better management of existing human resources."
