Portimão welcomed the finalists of the Festival da Canção

Final is scheduled for this Saturday at 21 pm

The finalists of the 53rd edition of the Festival da Canção, which takes place tomorrow, Saturday, at Portimão Arena, were received this Friday in the riverside area of ​​Portimão by Isilda Gomes, mayor of Portimão.

Addressing the musicians, the mayor underlined "the pride that Portimão is to receive the final of the competition, which will give all participants the opportunity to get to know this beautiful and welcoming city, with excellent conditions to live or visit".

«Take the name of this land far away and return with your families and friends for a holiday, because you will certainly reap great memories», said the mayor to Mariana Bragada, Matay, Surma, NBC, Madrepaz, Conan Osiris, Calema and Ana Cláudia, the candidates to represent Portugal at the 64th Eurovision Song Contest, taking place from 14 to 18 May, in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.

«Everyone is a winner, regardless of the final result, as we have magnificent voices and beautiful lyrics here. You have already left a mark and revealed potential for a successful career”, pointed out Isilda Gomes, before congratulating RTP “for the good work done”.

The final of the 53rd Festival RTP da Canção is scheduled for 21 pm this Saturday, March 00nd, and will be broadcast live worldwide from Portimão Arena.
