The regional phase of the Festivity of Women's Football, which takes place next Wednesday, March 20, from 15 pm, at the Estádio Algarve, will have a record number of participants, with the presence of more than 00 young athletes expected.
This is an initiative aimed at women's soccer practice in the under-13 (Soccer 5) and under-15 (Soccer 7) levels.
In the previous edition, 53 athletes were present in the Regional Phase and the highest number of participations was registered in 2016, with 64 players.
This year, in addition to the 74 called up by the Technical Department of the Algarve Football Association, two more teams will be at the Algarve Stadium: one consisting of players from various Algarve clubs and another composed mostly of students from the Gil Eanes Secondary School, of Lagos.
"In the regional phase, the winning teams at each level are selected for the National Phase, in a project whose main objective is to promote, as soon as possible, the regular and continuous practice of football among women", says the Football Association of the Algarve.
