Almost ten years later, the State begins to be judged for the death of five people in a landslide in Praia Maria Luísa, in Albufeira.
The victims' relatives are asking for civil damages of 911 euros from the State, the only defendant, who is liable for omission of duties.
At issue are the various institutes that should have monitored a cliff that was at risk.
On 20 August 2009, a considerable part of the cliff collapsed onto the beach, which was fatal for a 37-year-old woman and a family of four, father, mother and two daughters from Porto.
