Two tourists injured without seriousness in a boat accident in the Alfanzina grotto

One of the lightly injured was transported to the hospital in Portimão, but "just in case"

Two tourists were injured this Sunday without serious injuries when a maritime tourist vessel collided with the entrance to the Alfanzina cave, on the coast of Lagoa, near Carvoeiro beach.

The vessel, which was on a tour of the coast, was carrying 22 passengers and four crew members, he told the Sul Informação the Captain of the Port of Portimão.

One of the injured tourists was taken to the hospital in Portimão, but "just in case" to be observed. The vessel returned to Portimão by its own means.

This Sunday, the sea on the southern coast of the Algarve had waves from the west of 1,5 meters, which makes entering the caves risky, especially at high tide.

The Alfanzina cave is close to the farol with the same name, being formed by the erosion of the limestone cliff. It is one of the most visited places on the coast of Lagoa.
