Dance and fado from “Margens do Mondego” passes through Mértola

Show tells «story of a woman named Coimbra»

The dance and fado show “Nas Margens do Mondego”, by the dance company Flic Flac, takes to the stage at the Cine-Teatro Marques Duque, in Mértola, this Friday, March 30, at 21 pm.

This show tells the «story of a woman named Coimbra, danced by women and sung by men».

“Nas Margens do Mondego” is an “artistic symbiosis between dance and music”.

Based on these traditions, the characters in the show appear: the student – who comes to study in Coimbra and just wants to flirt with the tricana and try to seduce her with her serenades, the tricana herself – a local woman, who works essentially as a washerwoman and who, at times, lets himself be entangled in the covers of students and the futrica, a local boy, who did not study at university and who works to support his family.
