The Algarve Wines will be promoted in Porto, between the 22nd and 25th of February, and in Dusseldorf, Germany, between the 17th and 19th of March, in two “emblematic” wine events, according to the Algarve Wine Commission (CVA).
“After the bustle of winemaking and special sales in December, the new year of wine promotion starts in February with the start of the calendar of events specialized in the wine and beverage sector,” says CVA.
According to the Wine Commission, the wine events calendar "begins in the best way", with the presence at Essência do Vinho, the first fair "of national importance to be held in 2019 and which this year celebrates its 15th anniversary". This event, which takes place between the 22nd and 25th of February, takes place at Palácio da Bolsa, in Porto.
In this event, for now, there are three producers confirmed in this event (Marchalégua, Morgado do Quintão and Adega Cooperativa Única), and registration is still open for other producers who want to represent the region in this event.
The organization of Essência do Vinho «estimates the presence of 400 producers and more than 3 wine references in the tasting, having this year developed an APP of the event that will function as an online store and allow visitors to buy the wines, made available by the producers present, right at the time of the tasting, with delivery taking place conveniently at home. A novelty that could be a model to be followed in other similar events», advances the CVA.
Between the 17th and 19th of March, Algarve Wines “travel” to Dusseldorf, Germany, to participate in Prowein, which celebrates its 2019th anniversary in 25.
According to CVA, the German city will be "the stage for the world's leading producers and respective brands, both in the wine and alcoholic drinks sector."
The «importance of this event at an international level, associated with the weight of Germany in the national wine sector» led «CVA to launch the challenge to the region's producers, sponsoring a stand at Prowein 2019 so that the Algarve wines had a presence, for the first time, at this landmark event», adds the Algarve Wine Commission.
The event will be attended by Cabrita Wines, Casa Santos Lima, Quinta da Penina and Quinta dos Vales representing the Algarve Wine Region with their wines.
In 2018, Prowein registered the presence of 6738 exhibitors from 67 countries and around 60 thousand professional visitors.
