Civil Service Strike with "strong adhesion" closes schools and affects hospitals

Strike joins UGT and CGTP

As for Lagos, it has «the municipal markets closed and the Chamber without service», said a source from the National Union of Workers in Local and Regional Administration, Public Companies, Concessionaires and Related to the Sul Informação.

As far as other public administration services are concerned, the effects of the strike are also making themselves felt. "The Loulé Conservatory has 70% adhesion to the strike," said Rosa Franco. In Faro, found the Sul Informação, Loja do Cidadão has some closed services, such as Loja do Munícipe.

In São Brás de Alportel, in turn, the adhesion to the strike was “almost total” at the local Health Centre.

This civil service stoppage brings together two union centrals: the UGT and the CGTP. At issue is the request for salary increases, something that has not happened for 10 years, as well as the lack of workers in the education and health sectors.
