Sausages Fair offers a Kitchen Laboratory and a Cataplay session

Children will have a privileged area in this 26th edition

The “Kitchen Laboratory – Sharing Knowledge and Flavors”, promoted by Tertúlia Algarvia, and which will have Monchique sausages as the main focus of creation and confection, is one of the novelties of the Sausages Fair, which takes place on the 2nd and 3rd of March, in that mountain village.

Still on the gastronomic side, visitors to this year's edition of the Sausages Fair will be able to watch "Cataplay", a play full of spells and contradictions, starred by Mário Spencer and Tânia Silva. Mário plays the famous Al-Chef and Tânia is the Marafada Cozinheira. At the end, spectators can enjoy a cataplana recipe made by the Tertúlia Algarvia team.

The event also includes the “Praça Sabores”, the restaurant area that brings together various gastronomic proposals.

Children will have a privileged area in this 26th edition. It is the “Espaço Bolota”, specially created with the little ones in mind, which will provide workshops on the pig, exploring the relationship of this animal with nature, its eating habits, the characteristics of its habitat, its social organization and the human imaginary related to it.

These workshops, «of an expressive and creative nature, will allow the child to integrate this knowledge in a playful way, working creatively», emphasizes the Municipality of Monchique, which promotes the event.

In search of tradition and, through units specially designed for the Feira dos Enchidos, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the most typical flavors of the local cuisine.

The presence of several Sausage Production Units and Traditional Kitchens give the event a genuine flavor and knowledge.

In addition to gastronomy, handicrafts also have a strong presence, with stands dedicated to sweets, arbutus, bread and other products, thus generating an event that brings together other economic activities.

The event will also be used to award a sausage producer the Lima Duque Prize, created to perpetuate the memory of Luís Fernando Maia de Lima Duque, a veterinarian and a person always linked to this fair.

In terms of musical entertainment, this year's edition offers a poster with the concert by Carminho on March 2, at 22 pm, and another with Sara Tavares, on March 00, at 3 pm.
