The Judiciary Police, through the National Unit for Combating Narcotics Traffic and the Southern Directorate, participated in January, together with the Spanish Guardia Civil, in an operation to combat drug trafficking by sea, following which they seized , in southern Spain, near the border with Portugal, about three tons of hash. Two alleged traffickers were also arrested.

The drug was transported in a speedboat to a beach in the province of Huelva, where, after being unloaded, it was transported in three all-terrain vehicles, which had been previously stolen, to a residence located nearby, where the arrests would eventually take place. and the drug seizure.

This operation, which had the support of the Portuguese Air Force in monitoring the vessel that transported the hashish, as well as with the support of the Maritime Police and the Coastal Control Unit of the GNR, is part of the effort made by the competent authorities. Portuguese and Spanish companies have been developing jointly and in coordination, aiming to interdict the entry of drugs in the European continent through the Iberian Peninsula», explains the PJ in a statement.
