Filipa Sousa, from Albufeira, who won the Festival RTP da Canção in 2012 with “Vida Minha”, will release the album “Acreditar”, on the 23rd of February, at 21 pm, in the Auditório Municipal de Albufeira.

This is the debut album of singer Filipa Sousa from Albufeira and «the crowning of a twenty-year career in which, always having fado as a starting point, she launched bridges to other musical genres – from rock to electronic music to dance and fusion of fado with unusual sounds, in the Al-Mouraria and in the Gato Malvado Ensemble», says the Câmara de Albufeira.

Filipa Sousa was one of the finalists of the television contest “Operação Triunfo” (2007), won the I Grande Noite de Fado do Algarve (2008) and was the winner of the Festival RTP da Canção in 2012 with “Vida Minha” (Carlos Coelho/Andrej Babić).

On stage at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium, Filipa Sousa will be accompanied by Valter Rolo and Tiago Sequeira on keyboards, Vasco Ramalho on drums, Bruno Vitor Martins on bass, Rafael Pacheco on Portuguese guitar, Lino Guerreiro on saxophone, Romeu Madeira and Carolina Damásio on violin, César Nogueira on viola d'arco and also by Ana Hespanha, on cello.

In this album, and as a tribute to Albufeira, there is the theme “Nossa Senhora da Orada”, written by the singer, who explains that “two or three years ago, when I sang at the Festas de Homagem Nossa Senhora da Orada, I woke up on the eve of the dress rehearsal with the idea and the melody in mind».

Tickets are on sale at the Lídia Jorge Municipal Library on weekdays (9:00-13:00; 14:00-16:00) and at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium, on the day of the show from 19:30 to 21:15. Information and reservations can be made by calling 289 599 645.
