The couple “Férinhas”, the mascots of Portimão – European City of Sport 2019, “contaminated the public” that this Wednesday, January 2nd, vibrated with the Portimonense's historic victory against Benfica by 2-0.
For the Municipality of Portimão, the mascots "constituted an animated amulet, helping to break the failure of the local team that, in 40 matches, had never beaten the red ones".
At the end of the match, Férinhas and Férinhas distributed a leaflet, launching the challenge to participate in the opening ceremony of Portimão – European City of Sport 2019, scheduled for January 18, at 21 pm, at Portimão Arena.
«The pair of mascots will be one of the main brand images of the project, being present at all scheduled sporting events», concludes the Câmara de Portimão.
