Alcoutim's primary and secondary education students will be able to continue to participate in the “Junior University”, during the summer holidays. summer courses at this higher education institution.
The main objectives of this program, called “Junior University”, «are to encourage a taste for knowledge in different areas, familiarization with the university environment and contribution to the choice of a vocational path», according to the Alcoutim Chamber.
Under the protocol now renewed, "the municipality ensures the expenses with accommodation and travel for all students in the municipality attending the 9th, 10th and 11th years of schooling".
«This typology of measures, associated with other similar offers, constitute an important instrument for promoting access to higher education and have had an excellent adhesion by the municipality's students. The activities promoted by this University are opportunities for real contact with its educational offer and for deepening knowledge of this level of education, contributing to the preparation of young people for the transition to higher education», defends the president of the Alcoutim Chamber Osvaldo Gonçalves .
The “Junior University” summer courses will run from the 22nd to the 26th of July.
