ISDE International Six Days Enduro is new of the year at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve

There are plenty of good reasons to join the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve

The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA), in Portimão, will mark motorsport in 2019. The usual Superbike World Championship and this year's novelty, the ISDE International Six Days Enduro, are some of the 8 confirmed races that will take place at the Algarve circuit.

The first big event takes place in May, from 3rd to 6th, with Pure McLaren, an event aimed at brand lovers. Also in May, on the weekend of the 18th and 19th, the National Motorcycle Championship (CNV) returns to the Algarve circuit for the second race of the year.

In a year in which Superbike and Superstock are gaining more presence in the championship, CNV returns again, on the 15th and 16th of June, to the south of the country, for another great round.

Once again, the 24H Endurance Series – Portimão will be present at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, between the 5th and 7th of July, for a weekend that, stresses the track administration, «promises to be intense and full of emotion ».

In 2019, the Superbike World Championship riders arrive earlier in the south of the country. In August, the weekend of the 24th and 25th is marked by the official tests of the numerous teams participating in the championship.

Then, from 6 to 8 September, the Portimão circuit hosts the 10th round of the 2019 Superbike World Championship, with races in the Superbike, Supersport, Supersport 300 and Superstock 1000 categories. It will be «a unique opportunity to watch more a round on national territory, for motorcycling lovers».

The adrenaline doesn't end with passing the Superbike World Championship. The following month, between the 25th and 27th of October, it's time to host the final of the European Le Mans Series, "an essential test for fans of the sportiest and fastest cars", explains the Autódromo administration.

Welcoming the month of November will be classic cars, which once again show their value at the well-known Algarve Classic Festival.

The event calendar is complete with ISDE – International Six Days Enduro, the oldest two-wheeled competition in the world. The prestigious endurance event, which has not been to Portugal since 2009, will take place on November 11th and 16th and will tour several locations in the Algarve region.

«It is certain that there is no lack of good reasons to join the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in another year full of adrenaline, speed and a lot of emotion», stresses the management of the Portimão circuit.
