Cycling, ballet and the juicy Algarve orange are on the cover of the February edition of «Guia Algarve», a publication that proposes more than 100 events to occupy the days and nights of the shortest month of the year, in the south of the country. Between music, theatre, exhibitions, dance, sports, fairs and the suggestions of the «365 Algarve» program, any cultural excuse is good for leaving home with family, friends or even alone.

Featured in the guide published by the Algarve Tourism Region, comes the 45th Tour of the Algarve by bicycle, from 20 to 24 February, which brings the winning formations of the Algarve to the roads of various Algarve locations. rankings World, European and Portuguese 2018. the ballet Carmen, with music by the French composer Georges Bizet and interpretation by the Ballet Español de Murcia, takes to the stage of Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, the story of the fateful relationship between the gypsy Carmen and the sergeant Don José. To watch on the 2nd, at 21 pm.

Closing the highlights, a different event that makes the Algarve orange the protagonist: the 3rd exhibition Silves, Capital of Orange, which, between the 15th and 17th, will bring together in the city's Pavilion of Fairs and Exhibitions dozens of exhibitors linked to citrus, agriculture, sweets, gastronomy, handicrafts and wines. In music, the month opens with the Confessions Tour de Aurea, on the 01st, at 21 pm, at the Lagoa Municipal Auditorium, and with Kátia Guerreiro, a fado singer who will present the new album «Sempre» live, on the 30nd, at the Centro Cultural de Lagos, at 02 pm.

The month follows with other records, in other tones, for different musical tastes. From the outset, with the show by Daniel Kemish at Teatro Lethes, in Faro (on the 2nd, 21:30 pm), with the V International Baroque Music Festival of Faro, from the 2nd to the 23rd of February, in various locations in the county (beginning at 21 pm), with the Chinese opera The Generals of the Yang Family, on the 11th, at 21 pm, at the Arade Congress Center (Lagoa), or with the 30th Al-Mutamid Music Festival, from 18 to 8, in Silves, Loulé, Lagos, Albufeira and Olhão, always at 23 pm.

There is still time for the unique experiences of the «365 Algarve» cultural program, with several premieres to be noted. On the first day of the month, the DeVIR Meetings, with the international group exhibition «Le Dessin de Presse dans Tous ses États (Part 1)», in the former Town Hall of Lagos.

On the 05th, at 21:30 pm, the debut Elastic at the cineteatro de Loulé, a cross between theater and music based on a collection of poems by Algarve authors that blend with the text by Sarah Lemmonnier and João de Brito, who stage the show.

Also with the signature «365 Algarve», the Algarve International Piano Festival will take António Rosado to perform West Side Story (on the 9th, at 21 pm, at the Teatro Municipal de Portimão) and Pedro Burmester to revisit the Symphonic Choral Fantasy for piano, choir and orchestra by Beethoven (16th, at 21 pm, at Teatro das Figuras in Faro).
