University of Algarve went to Angola to promote research and postgraduate education

Visit took place within the scope of the project “Algarve is Our Campus – Study and Research in Algarve”

A delegation from the University of Algarve (UAlg), led by Alexandra Teodósio, vice-rector for Research and Internationalization, visited Angola, from 3 to 10 December, with the aim of promoting research and postgraduate education. 

On December 4th, the LuandaWaterFront project was officially launched, coordinated by the Center for Marine Sciences, and financed by the Aga Khan Development Network and the Foundation for Science and Technology, with the presence of the Minister of the Sea and Fisheries of Angola Victoria de Barros Neto.

“On the 5th, a specific collaboration protocol was signed for the development of joint doctoral programs at Universidade Agostinho Neto”.

From the 6th to the 9th of December, the delegation visited the Academy of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of Namibe, in which several protocols and specific collaboration agreements were signed, both at the teaching level, with mobility for students, teachers and researchers, and research level, with the future implementation of CEEMAR – Collaborative Platform of Excellence for Marine Sciences.

This visit took place within the scope of the project “Algarve is Our Campus – Study and Research in Algarve”, co-financed by the Algarve Regional Operational Program – CRESC Algarve 2020, through the Support System for Collective Actions – Internationalization.

The project aims to promote and reinforce the notoriety and attractiveness of the University of the Algarve and the region, through the implementation of actions aimed at internationalization and the consequent increase in the number of international students, professors and researchers.
