Seminar in Olhão shows new paths in the assessment of developmental disorders in children

Event is promoted by APPC Faro in partnership with the University of Algarve

“Development of brain function in children with developmental disorders: New paths in assessment” is the theme of a seminar that will take place on December 8, at 9:30 am, in the auditorium of Colégio Bernardette Romeira, in Olhão, promoted by APPC Faro, in partnership with the University of Algarve.

This initiative "intends to make known to families and the community in general in the Algarve region, new approaches and therapeutic methodologies in developmental disorders, as well as new assessment technologies and the influence of food on the child's brain and global development" .

For this, the program counts on the participation of Manuela Quintas, from the Portuguese Institute of Neurotherapy, and Daniela Seabra, from the Functional Nutrition area, who states that «a healthy diet is essential for all children to have growth and
proper development. But in the case of children on the spectrum of autism and other neurodevelopmental or behavioral disorders, food becomes even more important, as it can have an important therapeutic effect, removing what is bad, and giving the metabolic parts for the organism of these children. respond more effectively to different behavioral therapies”.

Manuela Quintas, in turn, will address the child's brain development, developmental disorders, assessment and the various dimensions of neurotherapeutic intervention.
