The Mother Church of Olhão once again hosts the traditional Christmas Concert, which this year takes place on December 22, at 21 pm, and has as protagonist the Coro Génesis.
«The well-known melodies characteristic of this festive season are once again filling the hearts of the people of Olhão and visitors», says the Chamber of Olhão.
The line-up includes such well-known themes as Amen, Adeste Fideles, All I Want For Christmas is You, Hallelujha, Elvas' Christmas, The Boy is Sleeping, Silent Night or Jingle Bells.
Founded in 2005 by Ernesto Coelho, currently its artistic director, Coro Génesis «stands out for its innovative characteristics».
“It's a very adaptable structure, and it can be presented with an orchestra or just voices or even with very small structures, such as duets or trios. It presents itself with a very diversified repertoire, ranging from classical music to gospel, passing through contemporary pop, with its own musical arrangements and strong impact, which allows a strong ability to customize each event and each concert».
As one of the leading choirs in Portugal, the Municipality of Olhão says it is proud “to present Genesis again on Christmas Eve”.
