“MAR – Encontros de Música e Artes” is the name of the event that the Clube Artístico Lacobrigense will hold on the coming 21st and 22nd of December, in the premises of this recreational society, in the historic center of the city of Lagos.
This event is intended to promote and promote the artists of Lagos, create a space for reflection on the contemporary local cultural identity, involve different generations and contribute to local solidarity causes.
There are two days of concerts and exhibitions to liven up the city in the Christmas season. Bands such as Staccatto Limão, Nannok, Stone Breaker, Time For T and Plasticine compose the musical poster.
In terms of visual arts, there will be exhibitions of photography, pottery, painting and sculpture, an opportunity to appreciate the creations of Pedro Noel, Ricardo Lopes, Jorge Pereira and Raymond Dumas.
The event has a solidary nature, as the revenue from the sale of tickets and the auction of works by the artists on display reverts to Miguel Firmino, a Lacobrigense who suffers from a rare disease.
Given the nature and objectives of the event, such as the municipality's potential for cultural dynamization during the festive season and its solidarity nature, the Municipality decided, at the last Council Meeting (held on December 5th), to join the initiative, attributing you a subsidy in the amount of 5.280 euros.
According to information provided by Clube Artístico Lacobrigense, the organization intends to replicate in 2019, in two different periods (April and December), this event model.
