Workshop and field trip promote ornithology in Baixo Guadiana

With these initiatives, Odiana intends to demonstrate the potential of the Baixo Guadiana for bird watching

Odiana will promote a workshop on ornithology and a field trip in Baixo Guadiana, in search of the local birdlife, on November 17th.

According to the association that brings together the Town Councils of Vila Real de Santo António, Castro Marim and Alcoutim, “the day will be dedicated to bird life, a recognized tourist niche in booming and with enormous potential for development in the territory of the Lower Guadiana, whether in the Ria Formosa Natural Park or in the Natural Reserve of Sapal de Castro Marim and VRSA».

The workshop will take place between 10:00 and 12:30 at the Municipal Library of VRSA, and will include a lecture and photo exhibition.

In the afternoon, starting at 14:30 pm, a field visit will be promoted in the Cerro do Bufo salt pans, in Castro Marim, «a privileged space, for housing hundreds of species».

"These initiatives are intended to encourage the practice of this activity, as well as promote the ornithological potential of the territory in a clear promotion of nature tourism," according to Odiana.
