Quarteira celebrates New Year's Eve with Quinta do Bill and Karetus

«Quarteira is once again positioning itself as one of the main destinations for New Year's celebrations», says Câmara de Loulé

Quinta do Bill, Karetus and DJ Rahim are the guest artists on New Year's Eve, on December 31st, in Quarteira.

Praça do Mar is once again the main stage of the festivities and it is there that, on the 31st, from 21 pm, DJ Rahim from Quarteira "will heat up the atmosphere".

O pop-rock from the 90s takes the stage at 22:30 with Quinta do Bill, one of the most representative bands of a golden age of national music.

It was in September 1987, on Sr. Guilherme's farm (better known as “Bill”), “that the project was born from the hands of Carlos Moisés, Paulo Bizarro and Rui Dias. They began to stand out in various competitions such as the 1st Modern Music Exhibition at the RUC (University of Coimbra Radio), the 5th Rock Rendez-Vous Competition, the Rock Pepsi-RFM Competition and the 1st Aqui Del Rock Competition, from which they left winners which allowed the band to edit, two years later, their first album of originals “Sem Rumo”», tells Câmara de Loulé.

In 1994, “Os Filhos da Nação” was released, an album that definitively launched them into the limelight, with songs that marked a generation such as “Se te amo”, “Os Filhos da Nação”, “No Trilho Do Sol”, “A Única Das Amantes” or “Voa (fly)”.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Quinta do Bill won two Gold records,
four Silver discs and one Platinum disc.

«When the 12 chimes sound to announce the entry in 2019, a pyromusical spectacle will shine and echo on Quarteira Beach, where thousands of people will toast the New Year», says the city of Loulé.

Afterwards, the music will continue to liven up Quarteira, with the presence of a band from the new musical wave: the Karetus. Carlos Silva and André Reis are the protagonists of this project based on electronic music, but they claim that their main objective is «to make and play good music».

The New Year's Eve animation program in Quarteira is free.
