Portugal “desperately needs” immigrants for labor

A demographic problem that Portugal and Europe face due to lack of labor in some sectors can only be resolved with more immigration

The coordinator of Emigration Observatory defended, this Saturday, that Portugal "desperately needs" immigrants and that, to solve the problem of lack of labor, it must facilitate the entry of foreigners and carry out recruitment campaigns abroad.

For also sociologist Rui Pena Pires, the demographic problem that Portugal and Europe face of lack of labor in some sectors can only be resolved with more immigration. A path that has to be done quickly, otherwise, if they don't, they are heading towards “suicide”, he warned.
