Document provides for the requalification of Rua Dr. Ernesto Cabrita and Largo do Município

The Lagoa City Council approved, on the 31st of October, with the opposition's vote against (PSD), the budget for the year 2019, in the amount of 36,4 million euros.

According to the Câmara de Lagoa, in the new budget, «both revenue, as well as current expenses and savings, suffer an increase in relation to the last two years».

The municipality emphasizes that the budget has a positive balance of 9,7 million euros, "coming from the supremacy of current income over expenditure".

The largest percentage of revenue comes from the Municipal Tax on onerous Real Estate transactions, amounting to 9,3 million euros, from the Municipal Tax on Real Estate - IMI (9,3 million euros, from water resources - water (4,4, XNUMX million euros), followed by the Single Circulation Tax, sanitation and solid waste.

Direct taxes, the sale of goods and services and current transfers total approximately 34 million euros, corresponding to 93,5% of total revenues.

The expenditure, which includes personnel, acquisition of goods and services, totals close to 23,7 million euros (65% of its total value).

The municipal revenue forecast for the year 2019 has an increase of 2,45% (about 870 thousand euros) compared to the previous budget.

The Chamber of Lagoa also predicts that, in 2019, “revenue will show a growth rate of 2,64% compared to 2018. Current expenditure will also grow (0,53%), a large part destined to the acquisition of goods and services (39,11%)'.

The Municipality also estimates that it will implement 9,3 million euros of the Pluriannual Investment Plan (PPI). The "social functions" sector, which includes education, non-higher education, security and social action, housing and collective services, land use planning, sanitation, water supply, solid waste, environmental protection environment, cultural, religious and recreational services and sport will have the greatest weight, with an investment of around 5,5 million euros. In this sector, there is a growth of more than 20% compared to 2018.

According to the Chamber, this Multiannual Investment Plan will provide the municipality with «new structures and improvements to existing ones». Among the planned investments, the municipality highlights the requalification of Urbanização Algarvesol (140 thousand euros), the expansion and improvement of the water supply network (300 thousand euros), the redevelopment of Rua Dr. Ernesto Cabrita and Largo do Município (500 thousand euros). euros), the Collection Center for Wandering Animals (320 thousand euros) and the expansion and improvement of the public lighting network (200 thousand euros).

By organic classification, «a large part of the funds goes to the Department of Works and Urbanism (16 million euros), followed by the socio-cultural division (10 million euros) and local authorities (5 million euros).

The budget for 2019 also foresees, as “as in previous years, through the Protocols of Delegation of Competences, to transfer around 535 thousand euros to the Unions and Parish Councils.

The Lagoa City Council also unanimously approved the second revision of the Budget and Major Plan Options (GOP's) for 2018.

This review is justified, according to the municipality, "by the global increase in revenue, amounting to 460 thousand euros, with the sale of investment goods – land – that were not provided for in the initial budget".

The municipality sold, at a public auction, some plots of the Bela Vista urbanization, in Parchal. The funds raised are intended, above all (91%), to increase the Pluriannual Investment Plan, with three acquisitions: two urban buildings, one in Ferragudo (245 euros) and another in Estômbar (105 euros) and the purchase of two stores in Parchal (70.000 euros).

The remaining funds collected will reinforce the item “Other current expenses”.
