journalist of Sul Informação is a finalist for the National Innovation Journalism Award

Two reports from Sul Informação compete for the awards, along with works by Público, TSF, Observador and Jornal Económico

Two works by the journalist Nuno Costa, managing editor of Sul Informação, are finalists, in the Online Regional Media category, of the first edition of the National Innovation Journalism Award, promoted by ANI – Agência Nacional de Inovação.

The initiative aims to promote and identify Portuguese journalistic works, in print or online, published in 2017, with a focus on themes of innovation and enhancement of scientific and technological knowledge.

Three prizes will be awarded for each of the categories: National Online Media, National Written Media and Regional Online Media, this year for a total of three prizes worth four thousand euros each.

After the first phase of the competition, where the jury selected the finalists, it is the public's turn to vote online and choose the best candidates.

The public can do this until November 30th, accessing the ANI website (https://ani.pt/ja-esta-aberta-a-votacao-online-para-apurar-os-vencedores-do-premio-nacional-de-jornalismo-de-inovacao/).

After evaluating the applications, the competition jury, composed of Eduardo Maldonado (President of ANI), Paula Ascenção (Communications Director of Compete 2020), João Paulo Meneses (journalist, professor ISMAI/ESJ Porto), Vasco Trigo (Director of Communication and Multimedia at ISCTE) and Joana Ferreira (ANI Communication Unit), considered that the requirements for awarding an award in the Regional Media – Written Press category were not met.

The winners will be known in a ceremony to take place on the 10th of December at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Center.
