Filipe Coelho exhibits “100Filtro” at the IPDJ

The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 18:00 pm.

The exhibition “100Filtro – everyday records, places and people”, by the illustrator Filipe Coelho, opens this Friday, November 9th, at 20:00, at the Algarve Regional Directorate of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), in Faro.

Filipe Coelho was born in Faro in 1984 and did his training in Communication Design.

In childhood,« his free time, and not only, was occupied with drawing, so, from an early age, he nurtured and developed a taste for drawing. Later, in his adolescence, other interests emerged that led him to explore other forms of artistic expression such as painting, photography and comics, among others», says the IPDJ.

Today, he works as an illustrator freelancer with a greater focus on digital arts, but the appeal of paper has never completely disappeared and this exhibition is a reflection of that.

Being a part of his relatively recent work, “100Filtro” «is a set of records made mostly in the Algarve, where the author gives special focus on the historical heritage, the natural landscape and people in their daily life, seeking to portray the everyday, places and people” with “drawings or sketches, paintings and notes made by hand and on site with traditional materials such as markers, Chinese ink and watercolor”.

The exhibition will run until 30 November and can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 18:00 pm.
