CCDRA promotes seminar on Circular Economy in the Algarve

The event will discuss the transition to an economy where waste becomes a product

The Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR Algarve) promotes a seminar on Circular Economy, on the 5th and 6th of December, at its headquarters in Faro, which aims to debate this theme in the region, bring together all stakeholders/partners and promote a strong moment of dissemination with an opportunity to present initiatives/works in the circular economy.

This seminar is part of the implementation of the Regional Agenda for the Transition to the Circular Economy of the Algarve, framed by the Circular Economy Action Plan.

It is expected to be an event about the transition from the linear economy to the circular economy, to a society where waste is transformed into a product, and that will attract the attention of many partners in both the economic and environmental areas.

As free registration is now open and the program will be announced in the coming days, with participants expected to come from different sources, from the local and central administration to the scientific and school community and, with special emphasis, to companies in the region.

As speakers, the European Commission (DG Environment), national and international examples, representatives of the main sectors in the Region will be highlighted, and the sources of public financing for the transition to the circular economy will be presented.

«Innovation, research and creativity are keys to the success of this transition», stresses the CCDR Algarve in a press release, calling for the participation of all who want to present and debate cases of innovation and good practices in the circular economy.

This seminar is supported by the Environmental Fund the Ministry of Environment and Energy Transition and European Union funds, within the scope of the POCTEP – Operational Program for Cross-Border Cooperation Spain-Portugal.
