Access Culture brings to Loulé a debate on «programming in the peripheries»

The moderation will be in charge of Paulo Pires, cultural programmer at the Municipality of Loulé

“Programming in the peripheries: what? For whom? With whom?" these are the themes of the debate promoted by the Acesso Cultura association, which will take place on Tuesday, November 20th, at 18 pm, at the Cine-Teatro Louletano.

It is intended to reflect on the peripheries. What are the “peripheries”? Will there be others besides the geographic ones? Will they also exist in the center of our cities? And can a periphery also be a center? What is planned in these peripheries? Who programs and for whom? These are some of the issues that will be discussed.

Moderated by Paulo Pires, cultural programmer at the Loulé City Council, the following guests will debate the theme: Carolina Santos (actress), Associação Mákina de Cena, João de Mello Alvim (theatre director), Folha de Medronho – Association of Performing Arts , from Loulé, Jorge Pereira (visual artist) and LAC – Creative Arts Laboratory, from Lagos.

The debate “Programming in the peripheries: what? for whom? with whom?" will take place simultaneously in the cities of Évora, Funchal, Lisbon, Loulé, Porto and Vila Nova de Famalicão.

Within the scope of the initiatives promoted by the Acesso Cultura association, the following debates took place in the Algarve in 2018: “Accessibility: what prevents good practices?”, “Can cultural organizations make policy. Must?" and “Communication design. Elitist?”.

Entrance is free and subject to room capacity.
