Portimão invites everyone to have fun at another São Martinho Fair

Feira is the oldest event in Portimão

Bumper cars, carousels, plenty, popcorn and traditional roasted chestnuts. The 356th edition of Feira de São Martinho, the oldest popular event in Portimão, takes place from November 2nd to 11th, in the Parque de Feiras e Exposições. 

The Fair, which dates back to 1662, promises to make «the delights of children and adults», says the Portimão Chamber.

This year's edition will once again feature two themed days – November 7th and 11th – chosen by the exhibitors and the organization, with the aim of applying special prices to the entertainment. The 7th is for children and young people (youth day), while the last day of the fair is dedicated to the family.

Inside the Portimão Arena, during the days of the fair, between 15:00 pm and 24:00 am on Friday and Saturday, and between 15:00 pm and 23:00 pm from Sunday to Thursday, there will be a car exhibition in charge of the Alfa Romeu brands, Audi, Citroën, Dacia, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Renault, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen, and Yamaha motorcycles.

On the first day, November 2, the São Martinho Fair can be visited from 16:00 pm to 1:00 am, while on the 3rd it will be open from 10:00 am to 1:00 am.

Between the 4th and the 8th, the doors are open from 10:00 am to 24:00 am and, on the 9th and 10th, it is open from 10:00 am to 1:00 am. On the last day, the 11th, the fair will be open from 10 am to midnight.

In terms of access to the event, the south entrance to the Fairs and Exhibitions Park is open, through the riverside area of ​​Portimão, next to the railway bridge, in an area where there are several parking spaces, and the usual north entrance, for who come from Largo Gil Eanes or from Cardosas.

Another way to get to Feira de São Martinho is via the Vai e Vem urban transport network, which has stops at Cardosas, Parque de Feiras e Exposições and Largo do Dique. here

«Due to the assembly and disassembly work of the fair, and for the safety of exhibitors and visitors, residents who usually travel on foot or by bicycle through the Parque de Feiras e Exposições de Portimão, to connect to the riverside area of ​​the city, are informed , that the passage will be prohibited from October 28th to November 1st, with pedestrian access being authorized during the period in which the fair will take place, subject to the opening hours», says the City Council of Portimão.

This passage will be banned again between 12 and 15 November. In November there will be no place for the monthly market, which will return on December 3rd, nor the flea market, whose frequency will then resume on December 2nd and 16th.
