The Capela do Monte (authored by Álvaro Siza Vieira), the exhibition “50 Books, 50 Algarves… reading heritage” (patent in the Library of the Municipality of Lagoa) and works carried out in Algar Seco and Sítio das Fontes (with the under the guidance of landscape architect José Vieira, responsible for the projects) will be visited on the 26th and 27th, as part of the 15th Congress of Architects, which starts tomorrow, at the Centro de Congressos do Arade, in Lagoa.
With registration practically closed, given the limited capacity of the spaces to visit, this initiative is part of the parallel program of social and cultural activities designed by the organization for the three days of the 15th Congress of Architects, whose strong theme is the preservation and qualification of Heritage Architectural and Landscape.
In addition to the aggregating theme, the meeting will include three sub-themes: spatial planning and enhancement, rehabilitation of architectural and landscape heritage and the professional practice of architects.
In the year it celebrates 20 years, the Order wants to define the role of the architect in society, in the future of the national heritage and in the economic and social development and innovation for society.
The 15th Congress of Architects, taking place for the first time in the Algarve, has the support of the Municipality of Lagoa and will bring together around 300 professionals at the Arade Congress Centre.
The prime minister, as well as the secretaries of State for Spatial Planning and Nature Conservation and also for Housing will be present at the opening and closing sessions of the works.
