From the 3rd to the 5th of October, two journalists, specialists in wine, visited Algarve producers, getting to know the region and its potential better.

Marie Roginska and Lisete Osório, from France and Portugal, respectively, are part of the International Federation of Journalists and Writers of Wines and Spirits.

Lisete Osório writes for publications in Spain and is also a wine producer from a family property in the Douro, having, therefore, the practical experience of production combined with tasting. Marie Roginska is also «a person whose knowledge goes beyond organoleptic assessment, as she has a degree in oenology and has the technical knowledge associated with winemaking», says the Algarve Wine Commission (CVA).

The visits program was technically monitored by CVA, which forwarded them to producers who joined the project and welcomed visitors to its facilities, making known, in addition to their wines, the projects and their history and motivations for production of the Algarve nectars that have been on the test these days.

For Lisete Osório, this was a long-awaited visit. So, when the opportunity arose, he didn't even hesitate, confessing that “he knew very little about the region's wines and that he was hearing more and more about them, so he wanted to deepen his knowledge and information about the Algarve and its current state of production".

Marie also visited the region for the first time. The Frenchwoman found it “refreshing to get to know and write about a region unknown to me. Visits are normally organized to other better-known regions, but we are always looking forward to new things and to try and learn about other projects, as happens here in the Algarve».

On the 5th of October, the journalists ended their visit after lunch and headed to VINIPAX in Beja, the event that had its 12th edition with the motto “Wines and Sensations of the South” and in which CVA participated.

From the 19th to the 21st of October, CVA will be present at the “Mercado de Vinhos” in Campo Pequeno, in Lisbon, with «several Algarve producers who, through the space provided by CVA or in their own stand, will make known or reinforce its presence in the important market of Lisbon».
