130 kilos of octopus seized in Tavira

Octopus was delivered to three Social Solidarity Institutions in Tavira

130 kilos of octopus were seized at dawn this Saturday, 29 September, by the Maritime Police at the Fishing Port of Tavira. 

According to the National Maritime Authority, "the apprehension took place as part of a policing action aimed at fleeing the auction by a coastal fishing vessel and capturing immature octopus."

These infractions correspond to a fine that can go from 500 to 3740 euros. The seized octopus was donated to three Social Solidarity Institutions in Tavira.

Six agents, a speedboat and a vehicle from the Local Command of the Tavira Maritime Police were involved in this policing operation.
